We have had a lot going on lately. We took a 5 day vacation to Germany and Austria at the end of June. Since we have returned, we have been trying to pack up our apartment to move to a new one. This will be our second move in Switzerland. We have lived here two and half years. Of course, the Swiss think we are crazy. Maybe we are, but we are moving for good reasons. Hopefully it will be a good move. Sometimes I think I just need change in my life. I lived in the same house until I went to college. My parents still live there. Since I left for college in 1997, I have moved house 7 times. That averages out to moving once every two years. I hate the process of moving, but will enjoy the new apartment.
Then there are some changes I don't like. Living here I have met so many other expats. Some have been here a long time and others a matter of months. You make a connection and become friends. It is hard when the friends you make start to move back home. Will we ever see them again? Only time will tell, but I really do hope our paths will cross again someday.
