Vacations

I love vacation! Then again, who doesn't? I just get aggravated planning. Sometimes it is difficult to decipher what sets one hotel above another. There a just too many choices. We are in the midst of planning a long weekend getaway for this June to Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Austria and Hohenschwangau, Germany. We have part of our trip already reserved but are waiting on responses from the other part. So far what I have found is it is best to email the hotel for rates and availability, rather then depending on their price list online. Only one hotel has come back with the rates that were listed on their website. I have also found that google maps is very useful. Some hotels claim they are next to something when actually they are quite a distance away. It is also very valuable to have someone fluent in German to send the emails for you so things don't get lost in translation. Still working on my German not quite fluent just yet. I am looking to find websites here similar to kayak.com or travelocity.com which give you the best prices available. For now I must settle for searching searching searching until I find something that meets our criteria and price range. As we go on vacations or getaways, I plan to list out the websites where we found the hotel or pension.
